The Allen & Heath Qu-5 represents a high-performance evolution of the compact digital mixer, taking the popular rack-mountable 19-inch form factor of the original Qu-16 and completely supercharging it with a next-generation 96kHz XCVI FPGA processing core.
This advanced hardware overhaul dramatically elevates audio fidelity, increases processing speeds, and expands mixing capabilities.
It is tailored specifically for live music venues, touring bands, houses of worship, corporate AV installers, and broadcast studios requiring ultra-low latency, flagship-tier effects processing, and straightforward "walk-up-and-mix" tactile usability.
Operating with an expansive 38-input mixing capacity and a flexible 28-bus internal architecture, the console features 16 local, digitally controlled XLR/Jack "Combi" microphone preamps alongside 17 smooth, 100mm motorized faders mapped across 4 fully customizable control layers.
A vibrant, newly designed 7-inch capacitive touchscreen coordinates setup and navigation, working in tandem with advanced workflow utilities like automated Gain and Feedback assistants.
The Qu-5 relies on a powerful SLink port for digital stage box expansion, providing instant connectivity to a wide ecosystem of remote audio racks.
Features
Supercharged 96kHz XCVI Core Processing: Driven by Allen & Heath's premier FPGA engine, delivering pristine high-resolution sound quality with variable bit-depth up to 96-bit and a virtually imperceptible system latency of less than 0.7ms.
Responsive 7-Inch Touchscreen Interface: Combined with a completely redesigned user layout, this capacitive visual display provides immediate, intuitive finger-gesture mapping over channel strips, internal routing matrices, and parameters.
Flagship DEEP Processing Architecture: Seamlessly embeds studio-grade dynamics and EQ hardware emulations directly onto the inputs and mix channels without consuming extra DSP or introducing routing latency.
Flexible SLink Expansion: Outfitted with an intelligent 128x128 SLink connection for the Everything I/O stage expander ecosystem, allowing you to connect remote stageboxes over a single Cat5 cable.
Three-Way Multitrack Recording Matrix: Connects instantly as a 32x32 USB-C computer audio interface for DAW tracking.
It also acts as an on-board standalone multitrack recorder via an SD card slot (up to 32x32 at 48kHz or 16x16 at 96kHz) and supports simple stereo capture via a USB-A port.
Intelligent Assistive Mixing Utilities: Features an automated Gain Assistant to quickly establish ideal preamp levels, a Feedback Assistant operating up to 16 notch filters per output, and an integrated 32-channel zero-latency Automatic Mic Mixer (AMM) for speaking panels.
